Negative Leg: Platinum

Temperature:

(538 to 1482) ºC

(1000 to 2700) ºF

Application:

• Thermocouple Type S can be used in oxidising or inert atmospheres.
• It can work continuously at temperatures up to 1600°C and for brief periods(short term) up to 1700°C.
•  For high temperature work, insulators and sheaths made from high purity recrystallised alumina are used.
